ENTREPREUNERSHIP

This field includes research about three main areas. First, how the dynamics of family firms influence entrepreneurial processes and outcomes. In this area, our research attention is directed towards how the values, knowledge, and personal interactions of controlling families affect managerial and entrepreneurial processes such as opportunity recognition, organizational change, and technological innovation. Second, the dynamics of entrepreneurial opportunities emergence and exploitation and how they unfold in both new startups and existing firms. In this area, our research attention revolves around how individual entrepreneurs, and entrepreneurial firms, identify or create novel entrepreneurial opportunities, how they test the hypotheses and assumptions behind each innovative idea, and how they go about developing new ventures to capture their entrepreneurial ideas. Third, how digital technologies and digital transformation influence entrepreneurial and managerial processes by turning existing ones obsolete, offering insights for novel entrepreneurial ideas, and drive the managerial processes through which organizational actors adapt or even anticipate environmental changes.
